On our way back from Italy the trip through Switzerland took longer than expected and we arrived in Mulhouse at 12 at night. The lady behind the reception desk kindly waited for us until we (finally!) made it at approx. one o'clock. The hotel is hard to find since it is indeed in a sort of passage / side street that even the navsat finds hard to locate. However she guided us through the streets and arranged for the car to be parked behind the hotel in a private parking space. The room was fine, good beds and quite spacious. Bathroom was quite small, you had to sit in the bath to take a shower but all very clean and a lovely, quaint atmosphere.
No shower, just a bath.

Location in the city centre of Mulhouse.
Parking. It is possible just on the place in front of the hotel, which is paid during the day. During the night it is free of charge but it may be full.

Nice price, nice personel.
Problems with parking place, very, very small bathroom.

Very friendly, rooms were good prices and the location was fine,
The breakfast was ok, the parking was hit and miss, it is in a busy location so light sleepers may struggle with passers by as there are several winebars and restuarants nearby.

Very simple hotel but value for money.
Poorly furnished. The only mirror was A4 sized, above the wash basin with a blinding light. No real furniture for putting clothes--wall hooks but no shelves. Though rooms are described as en-suite, and economy room has a shower but no WC.

Excellent staff. Very safe environment with 24 hr reception. Price/quality relationship. For it's price one really cannot complain. If you're looking for luxury, this is not for you. If you want excellent value, comfort and safety this ticks all the boxes with lovely professional staff. I lived in Mulhouse 15 years ago and I knew Hotel de Bale had a good reputation. I will use it on subsequent visits back.

Centrally located, nice staff, balcony
The wifi was very weak on the 2nd floor, the room was on the small side

The hotel was right in the centre of town.
It was a little difficult to get to with the one way streets and there was no parking. We arrived later at night and every parking space within 4 blocks was taken.

We stayed at this hotel because of it's location, just over the border from Switzerland, halfway between where we had stayed in Italy and the ferry at Calais. The hotel was fine, good value, and the atmosphere in the dining room for breakfast was nice. The one way traffic system in Mulhouse makes finding any hotel in the city centre an absolute nightmare.

The Hotel is in the center of the city. Really clean and traditional. For one-two nights is perfect but for a long holiday maybe not the best.

Everything was as described, the hotel is well-located and for a 1-night stop in the city it was perfect.
